These are notable dates in the history of non-Muslim countries, because these are times when they met the Islamic State (Khilafah) in battle. The Islamic State, right from it's inception at the time of the Hijrah, has always been an expansive state, taking in new lands by dawah and jihad, and eventually the borders of the Islamic State left Arabia and other lands came into contact with Islam. Unlike the Muslim countries of today which are subservient to the West, the Khilafah was an ideological state founded on the Islamic ideology. It was because of the challenge of the Quran that the state performed the jihad to take Islam to the doors of these other nations. From the point of view of the countries that met Islam, many of them lost to the Islamic State, and were forced to live as part of it. In 1539 for example, Austria agreed to pay jizyah to the Khilafah and it is well-known that Malta, Spain, Southern France have all at one point been ruled by the Islamic State. The non-Muslims who were faced with having to fight against the Islamic state were knowledgeable about Islam, Arabic, and the challenge to produce a sura like that of the Quran.
But in all this time, no-one has ever been able to meet the challenge of the Quran. Many countless thousands of their sons and daughters were lost because of these wars, because they could not reply to the challenge for a man, or men, to come forward and write in the same style as it. Throughout the history of Islam, all her enemies - including the Romans, Persians and many other civilisations - simply needed to defeat this challenge to comprehensively eliminate the "Islamic threat". Yet no-one has been able to do this even though all the tools of the Arabic language are at their disposal. This truly is super-natural.
