We can say that it is a law of nature that if a man was to study the style of another man, he would be able, if he needed to, to imitate that style. Examples of this happening in every day life include:
The Quran claims to be a book of verses written in a style that man cannot imitate. It is not a question of it being beautiful or that it contains wisdom, it is merely a question of whether a man can write in the same style. The author of the Quran says: "Say: 'If all mankind and the jinn would come together to produce the like of the Quran, they could not produce its like even though they exerted all and their strength in aiding one another.'" and then: "Or do they say that he (Muhammed) has invented it? and then: "And if you all are in doubt about what I have revealed to My servant, The whole of Islam is based on this pretty simple, easy-to-understand challenge. It is possible to copy the style of a man's writing. But the Quran is not from man because it is impossible for man to write in the same style. In Arabia, the Arabs were experts in poetry and they used to compete with each other in this. The Quran was revealed to them and it baffled them by its beauty and incomparable language. None of the Arabs at that time nor any of the Arabs in the 1400 or so years since then has been able to produce anything similar or comparable to it. This is why the majority of the Arab people easily embraced Islam after witnessing the miracle of the Quran.
